Alexandria is a yoga teacher, integrative therapist, Reiki channeler, and writer based in New York City. Her mission is to inspire others to embrace their personal power and make changes that enhance lightness, love, and growth in their lives.

A nomad since birth, Alex spent her youth roaming the forests and meadows of Wisconsin, exploring farms and beaches in New Jersey, and wading in the rivers of Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up immersed in the study of movement as a competitive gymnast and was always carrying a journal as she contemplated the mysteries of the soul from a young age. Her curiosity for the study of the Self led her to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While in college, she worked in a research lab that studied adult development and aging, specifically exploring changes in cognition, social perception, and emotion regulation across the lifespan.

Alex moved to New York in 2007 and embarked on a seven year career in the financial industry, but her intuition was nudging her to serve the world in a different way. In 2014, she began her yoga teaching journey with trainings at YogaWorks and Yoga Shanti, continuing with advanced training under the guidance of Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee.  She studied Trauma Informed Yoga as a volunteer for Exhale to Inhale and completed her clinical rotations through the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy foundation.

Alex has served as a mentor in the Yoga Shanti and Urban Zen teacher training programs and currently teaches private clients and public classes in New York City.  Her yoga classes are typically rhythmic, alignment-based flows that encourage students to find a balance of strength and softness in their personal practices.

As an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist, Alex utilizes alternative healing modalities such as yoga therapy, breath awareness, guided meditation, Reiki, essential oil therapy, and contemplative care to address the symptoms associated with stress, trauma, cancer, surgeries, mental illness, and aging.  She has helped hundreds of clients in clinical, corporate, and private settings find a sense of relaxation and restoration.
